Purposeful Aging Los Angeles (PALA) seeks to prepare the Los Angeles region for a rapidly aging population through an innovative, sustained initiative that unites public and private leadership and strategies. PALA will improve the lives of older adults and Angelenos of all ages.
The WHO Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, in collaboration with Grantmakers In Aging, is pleased to announce Innovation@Home, a competition and a call for age-friendly housing practices that can inspire action around the world by showing what can be done and how it can be done.
Cities and communities can submit innovative housing practices through the Age-friendly World website, using the Submit Your Age-friendly Practice form.
Entries are due by 4 April 2018.
Practices will be assessed by a panel of judges for relevancy, replicability, strong outcomes and innovation. The top three entries will be recognized. Winners will receive free travel to the October 2018 International Technical Meeting on Ageing at Home in Quebec, Canada, where they will receive a formal award. Winning practices will also be publicized broadly through GIA and WHO networks and publications.
